Dear

In my position of President and Ceo of Massari Travel, i felt the need to write to you personally to inform you of a recent communication from the Holy See regarding the closure of St. Peter’s Basilica during Jubilee Audiences.

As reported on the official website, on days when the Pope holds a Jubilee Audience (Udienza Giubilare del Santo Padre – Piazza San Pietro), the Basilica will be closed and off-limits, probably for safety reasons.

Access is therefore restricted until the end of the audience (as on Wednesdays), but on both the B2B and B2C booking portals, reservations for those dates are completely blocked and we cannot possibly proceed with bookings or guaranteeing you the access for your clients.

I certainly understand that this communication may create uncertainty in your tour planning, and I want to assure you that, together with my staff, we are closely monitoring the situation and will do our best to provide up-to-date information so as to enable you to adjust your clients’ schedule.

For this reason, Maria, the product manager at Massari Travel, contacted the Fabbrica di San Pietro and received the following answer, which confirmed our qualms:

Dear Maria,
At the moment, the closures of the Basilica or any unavailability can be identified by the inability to make reservations on the platform, which will be updated daily. The schedule of celebrations is subject to change; therefore, we kindly invite you to monitor the platform regularly.

We encourage you to keep in mind that the closure of the Basilica during Jubilee Audiences may affect your itineraries and we advise you to always check the opening hours of the Basilica before organizing your visits.

We are aware that this situation may cause some inconvenience, but we assure you that we will do everything possible to minimize the impact on your tours.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation and hope this piece of news may be beneficial to you to arrange your clients ‘visit of St. Peter’s Basilica.

Sabrina
