We would like to share a brief update regarding the wildfires currently affecting parts of Sicily.
The fires are mainly concentrated in localized areas of the provinces of Palermo, Catania, Agrigento and Enna, where emergency services continue to work around the clock to contain the situation.
The good news is that Sicily remains open to tourism.
Most of the island’s main destinations, hotels and attractions continue to operate normally, and there is no island-wide travel restriction.
While isolated road closures or temporary disruptions may occur near active fire zones, the vast majority of tourist areas remain unaffected.
Flights are continuing to operate.
Although temporary delays or operational adjustments may occasionally occur due to smoke or local conditions, Palermo and Catania airports remain open and airlines continue to serve Sicily. Travelers are simply advised to check their flight status before departure.
Most importantly, the safety of visitors remains the top priority. Italian Civil Protection authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and any necessary precautions or localized evacuations are implemented immediately whenever required.
